NUTRITION AND WELLNESS PROGRAM

Interlochen Public Library

 

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development and implementation of the  library’s “Nutrition and Wellness Program”.  The position is part-time (without benefits), requiring 15 to 20 hours/week.  There is flexibility in the times worked.  Wages will be paid at $20/hour.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Development and implementation of a curriculum of nutritional and cooking classes
  • Building relationships with local agencies dedicated to nutritional health
  • Teaching or overseeing teachers of the programs offered in the curriculum
  • Performing a community general needs assessment
  • Prepping, overseeing, and cleaning up for each class offered in the curriculum
  • Collecting course evaluations from participants

 

Minimum requirements for applicants include:

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience or education in nutrition and/or culinary arts
  • Comfort with speaking to groups of people, including all age groups
  • Resourcefulness, ingenuity, and “can do” attitude
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excitement and passion about nutrition, cooking, and wellness
  • Ability to pass ServSafe Food Handler and/or Food Safety Manager training
  • Driver’s License, good driving record, and possession of a reliable personal vehicle
