Cooking Matters for Adults!
This is a nutrition program where participants learn how to eat healthy and cook and grocery shop on a limited budget. The program consists of six lessons, lasting approximately two hours each. With the help of two nutrition educators, participants will gain the skills and confidence to make healthy, budget friendly meals for their family. Each week, participants will receive take-home food, which they can use at home to practice a recipe they learned in class. Daycare is provided. The class series also includes:
-Participatory food preparation that provides cooking and food
safety instruction
-Engaging nutrition activities and discussions
-Practice with food budgeting
-Interactive grocery store visit and $10 challenge
-Recipe book for use at home and certificate of completion

New Grief Support Group at IPL
Losing a loved one is a difficult event that everyone will encounter at some point in their lives. Grief is a natural response to a death-related loss and it is common to need support and understanding from others who have also experienced loss.
Beginning in January, 2022, the library’s Health & Wellness: Live Your Best Life program will offer a monthly grief support group on the third Tuesday of each month from 2-4 pm. The group is free of charge and walk-ins are welcome.
